On the Sunday we left saying our goodbyes and hugs...we went up to a friend of ours and the kids and Gord and I relaxed for a day...we really needed it.
Monday we arrived at my parents and the week of driving back and forth to the hospital begins. I can tell you it is exactly 3 kms to the hospital from the house and which route is best for going and coming back. I know the hospital like the back of my hand. Now my Dad is going to be OK, he will be in the hospital another month they say. What happened is, he developed a Gallstone and a chip broke off embedding itself in his Pancreas. This caused alot of inflamation and extreme pain. Now that they finally found the problem, they can start treatment. I was happy I was at home for this as usually I feel guilty because I'm stuck in Nova Scotia unable to be with family.
Oh yes I forgot...on the first week.. I get a call from my brother who is housesitting for us. He informs me that the Environment Office was by for the 3rd time in 6 months with another complaint that our septic is leaking (which it is not and has been proven by the Environement Office). Lets add more stress...so due to this issue, we had to leave 3 days early to get home to tend to this PITA.
On the way home we stopped in for a lovely cold pinic with Corn on the Cob at my Grandmother's, a few of my aunts and uncles were there and it was nice to see them again. Grandma and my Step Grandfather are both 87 and looking great.
We left there and stopped by a reunion with friends we have met on the internet. We had a fantastic Steak Dinner ... it was so tender you could cut it with a plastic knife and fork. The kids enjoyed a dip in the pool and got cooled off. We left around 7:30pm and started our 18 hour drive home.
So now we are all resting up from our adventure...I'm starting to relax again and still get to enjoy another 5 days off.
Whew...Now I feel better...thanks for letting me blow off some steam...Hugs GANS

Me: Because we suck.
Me: Some days I wonder if there is a person running around, stalking us, making a poorly drawn comic of our lives.
Paper: Naw, that's what the soaps are for.
Me: Ah.
